The business started as a dream over 30 years ago as the founder, Stephen Johnson, watched his father, a veteran of the United States Air Force, put up and take down the American flag every day. Steve grew to love the flag and the symbol it represents - freedom. He gained deep admiration and respect for the men and women who have given their lives in defense of this wonderful Nation. With two active and five retired members of the U.S. Military in the family, Shining Star Flags & Bandanas is his way to honor those who serve our country.
